MORROW ATELIER · INDEPENDENT COMMERCE BUILD

Make a personal art commission easier to judge and follow.

Buying a one-of-one hand-painted work from a photograph can be slow and opaque, with uncertainty about the result, price and delivery.

My role: I defined the offer, built the site and funnel, and set up the artist workflow.

Key decision: Make the process visible from photo submission to delivery, with client approval before framing.

What happened: The live shop takes visitors from commission examples and a starting price to a photo-led request, followed by review, painting, approval and tracked delivery.

From a photograph to an original painting.

Morrow Atelier commissions hand-painted oil or watercolour works from a client’s photograph, starting from S$280.

A client shares the photograph and brief, receives a recommendation and quote, then reviews the completed painting before framing. Tracked delivery takes around 1 to 2 months from confirmation to arrival.

Resolve uncertainty before the work is framed.

The journey explains what the client provides, when they can review the painting and what happens after approval.

Review and refinement happen before framing and shipping. This makes approval a defined stage of the service, rather than a conversation left until the end.

What I learned

Customer acquisition is the real cost of this model. Publishing a shop creates a place to receive demand, but does not create that demand by itself.

Large framed works are expensive to ship and vulnerable to damage. Likeness is also subjective, so client approval before framing is an essential part of the workflow.
